2015 (Junior): Hiser played and started in 37 games in his first year with NSU … served as the Spartans’ normal starting third baseman (34 starts), occasional DH (three) and also made five relief appearances on the mound … At the plate, hit .291 with nine doubles, one homer and 21 RBI … Walked 19 times while striking out just 13, finishing with a .397 on-base percentage … Stole seven bases and also committed just eight errors at third base … Was 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA and two saves in relief pitching duty, spanning four innings … Was 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the season-opening win over N.C. At Lenoir CC: Served as a relief pitcher and third baseman in his two years at Lenoir … batted .264 with six homers, 22 RBI and 25 runs scored as a sophomore … On the mound, went 2-0 with two saves and a 1.65 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 27.1 innings of work as a sophomore … As a freshman, was named to the All-Region X Defensive Team and won the NJCAA Division II Gold Glove Award at third base.
 
High School: A four-year standout in both baseball and football at Grafton … Was first-team all-district in both sports as a senior … Also a first-team all-region and second team all-state and Daily press All-Stars pick as a senior in baseball … Batted .393 with five homers and 27 RBI as a senior for GHS, which won Bay Rivers District and Region I titles and advanced to the state Group AA playoff semifinals … Was second-team all-district in both baseball and football as a junior and honorable mention all-district as a sophomore.
