2013 (Junior): Played in 38 games and started in 28 in his first season as a Spartan … saw most of his playing time at second base and DH … hit .276 on the year with 29 hits in 105 at-bats … had two doubles, one triple and 10 RBI … had six games with exactly two hits … three of those came in the early-season series with Rider, where Ellis went 6-for-11 … had back-to-back two-hit games against Fairleigh Dickinson (2-for-4, two RBI) and Savannah State (2-for-5 with a double) in the SSU tournament … scored two runs in games with VMI and Delaware State … also had two hits (2-for-4) in the win over ODU … had a key RBI triple to help NSU to a first-round MEAC Tournament win over N.C. Central … member of the NSU Athletics Directors’ Honor Roll for the fall 2012 semester.

At PHCC (Freshman/Sophomore): Played two seasons for Patrick Henry, the same school that produced current NSU pitcher Chris Horne … Ellis batted .307 with 15 RBI and 24 runs scored as a sophomore … hit .378 with 36 RBI as a freshman, earning second-team all-region honors.

High School: Lettered four years in baseball … also played two years in basketball.

Personal: Cody M. Ellis was born on Dec. 15, 1991 … son of Mark and Cindy Ellis … majoring in health and physical education.
