Brian Triolet

Brian Triolet enters his second season as an assistant coach, specializing in pole vaulting for the Spartans in the 2025-26 season.

In his first season, he helped lead the Spartans men’s squad to indoor and outdoor championships, while the women’s team earned runner-up finishes in both indoor and outdoor competitions.

Under Triolet’s guidance, D’Nysha Brightful broke the school record in the pole vault during the outdoor season and won the MEAC individual championship. He also coached four other individual medalists across the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Triolet came to NSU with 17 years of coaching experience, primarily working with pole vaulters. He has produced multiple district/conference champions, including the boys and girls beach district indoor and outdoor record holders. He also boasts a long list of state-qualifying vaulters who have won state championships.

Triolet has served as a volunteer pole vault coach at Norfolk State since 2009. During this time, he mentored Spartan school record holder Brett Dodd.

Triolet holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Old Dominion University.
