2016-17: Named to the NSU AD’s Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters and was selected to the MEAC All-Academic Team … Also selected the team’s Most Improved Athlete. Indoor: NSU’s top weight thrower, Hockaday took sixth place at the CNU Holiday Open, Art & Linda Maillet UNC Open and Liberty Kickoff … Had a top throw of 47-7 at the CNU Holiday Open and 48-2.75 in a seventh-place finish at the Vince Brown Invitational … Set a new PR with a throw of 54-4.5 at the MEAC Indoor Championships, where he finished as runner-up. Outdoor: Earned three top-five finishes at NSU’s first two meets of the season … Was third in both the discus (142-11) and hammer (123-9) at the Tribe Invitational … Took fourth in the discus at the Fred Hardy Invitational (147-11) … Finished sixth in the javelin at the Morgan State Legacy Meet (142-9) and fifth in the hammer at the Virginia Grand Prix (157-5, PR) … Scored in two of his three events at the MEAC Outdoor Championships … Was sixth in the hammer (142-8) and seventh in the discus (149-1, PR) and also placed ninth in the javelin (146-9) at the conference outdoor meet.
2015-16: Member of the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters and earned a spot on the MEAC All-Academic Team. Indoor: Competed in the weight throw for the Spartans … Saved his best weight throw for his last meet of the season, as his top toss of 51-11.25 was good enough for third place at the MEAC Indoor Championships … Also threw 51-10 the week before to win the event at the Vince Brown Invitational at CNU … Placed third at the UNC Open, fourth at the holiday open and eighth at the Penn State Relays. Outdoor: Threw the discus, hammer and javelin during outdoor season … Took eighth place in both the hammer (143-8) and discus (145-3) at the season-opening Fred Hardy Invitational at the University of Richmond … Was 12th in the javelin throw at the Colonial Relays, with a top mark of 145-0 … Placed third in the discus at NSU’s Twilight Meet and second at Morgan State’s Legacy Meet … Notched a new PR of 146-8 in the discus at MSU … Earned fourth place in the discus at the MEAC Outdoor Championships, with a top throw of 141-9 … Placed ninth in the hammer and 12th in the javelin …
