Biography

2008-09 (Graduate)
Won his second straight MEAC individual cross country title after finishing the 8k course in 25:27.11, helping the Spartans win the team title.

2007-08 (Senior Season)
MEAC Cross Country champion after running the 8k course in 25:09…named cross country team MVP…also named the MEAC Indoor Championship Most Outstanding Performer after helping NSU to a meet-record 170 points…had a hand in 28.5 points, winning the mile (4:19.99) and placing second in the 5,000 meters (15:19.92) and the 800 (1:54.07)…also ran a leg on the winning distance medley relay team…ran an indoor season-best 800 time of 1:52.45 in the 800 meters at the Penn State Invitational…had the conference’s fastest mile time of 4:19.02 at the Virginia Tech Invitational…finished fifth in the 5,000 meters at the MEAC Outdoor Championship in 15:54.87.

2006-07 (Junior Season)
Named NSU’s Male Athlete of the Year…also presented with the Joseph Echols Memorial Award by the Norfolk Sports Club as NSU’s top athlete for the year…finished as the MEAC Cross Country runner-up, running an 8k time of 25:00…was the conference’s top miler, winning the title at the MEAC Indoor Championship in 4:23.51…also placed fourth in the 800 (1:54.82) at the MEAC championship…ran a leg on the winning distance medley relay team and on the 1,600 relay team that placed third…posted three top-five finishes at the MEAC Outdoor Championship…won the 1,500 meters (3:56.81) to qualify for the NCAA East Regional…came in third in the javelin throw (163-05) and fifth in the 800 meters (1:55.23).

2005-06 (Sophomore Season)
Finished fourth overall at the MEAC Championship in 24:11.0 to earn All-MEAC honors…was second in the mile (4:17.79) and fourth in the 800 meters (1:55.10) at the MEAC Indoor Championship…also ran on the conference championship distance medley relay team as the Spartans captured the conference team title…an NCAA national championship qualifier in the 800 meters…placed third at the MEAC Outdoor Championship in the 800 (1:51.97)…finished seventh in the 800 at the NCAA East Regional in a time of 1:51.76, earning him an at-large berth to the NCAA outdoor national meet…ran a personal-best time in the 1,500 (3:55.55) at the Duke Relays…also came in second in the 1,500 and seventh in the javelin at the MEAC Outdoor Championship, earning NSU a total of 20 points en route to the team title.

2004-05 (Freshman Season)
Sat out the season as a non-qualifer.

High School
Ran the fourth-fastest 800-meter time in the country as a senior, according to DyeStat.com…won the state outdoor championship in the 800, and took second place at the 2004 Nike Indoor Classic national meet.
