Outdoor: Competed in six outdoor meets … Helped 4x400 relay team open the season with a first place finish at the 2022 Colonial Relays … Logged a personal best of 10.60 in the 100 meters at the MEAC Outdoor Championships … Also part of first-place 4x100 relay team at the MEAC Championships
2020-21: MEAC All-Academic Team member … Also earned NSU AD Honor Roll for the fall semester.
Indoor: Earned top-five finishes at both indoor meets in which he competed … was fourth in the 200m at the Gamecock Opener (22.04) and in the 400 at the Liberty Elite Invitational (50.73).
Outdoor: Posted top-five finishes in the 200 at both the Gamecock Invitational and the Virginia Grand Prix … Ran a PR of 21.31 at U.Va. … Also ran on the 4x100 relay which placed second at the MEAC outdoor meet in 40.14 … Qualified for the conference championship in the 200 meters as well.
2019-20: Indoor: Began his collegiate career by winning the 400m at George Mason in 49.66 seconds … Also ran a leg on NSU’s winning 4x400 relay team … Clocked a 200m PR of 21.43 at South Carolina, taking ninth place … Was also runner-up in the 300m in a PR of 33.87 seconds … Placed third in the 60 meters and ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team at the VMI Team Challenge … Registered an indoor PR of 48.84 seconds in the 400 at Liberty … Placed seventh at the MEAC Indoor Championships in the 200 meters (21.88) and was ninth in the 400 (49.10) … Also ran on NSU’s bronze-medal winning 4x400 relay team.
Outdoor: Season was canceled due to COVID-19.
High School: A multi-sport standout, Hayes lettered four years in football, three in track and one in basketball … In track, was track team MVP as a senior, when he earned all-state honors during both indoor and outdoor season … Ran personal-bests of 21.24 seconds in the 200 meters and 48.72 in the 400-meter dash … State 3A indoor runner-up in the 300 meters as a senior … Also earned all-conference and all-state honors in track as a junior and sophomore … In football, was an all-state honorable mention selection and all-region performer as a senior, when he scored 14 touchdowns and amassed more than 1,000 receiving yards … Also scored 12 touchdowns as both a sophomore and junior.
