2016 (Senior Year): Earned VaSID (Virginia Sports Information Directors) second-team All-State honors … Member of the MEAC All-Academic Team … Competed in 35 games and made 30 starts … Made 12 starts in right field, 10 in center field, four at second base and four at designated hitter … Batted .308 on the year and led the team with 14 doubles, 30 RBI and a .615 slugging percentage … Scored 19 runs on 28 hits with one triple, four home runs, 11 walks and four sacrifice flies … Also posted a .374 on-base percentage … Ranked first in the MEAC in doubles … Her total tied for fourth in NSU history for single season doubles … Also ranked seventh in NSU D-I history for slugging percentage in a season … Stood fifth in the nation in doubles per game (0.40), 86^th in toughest to strikeout (18.4), 131^st in RBI per game (0.86) and 222^nd in slugging … Batted .345 (19-for-55) with runners on base and .400 (14-for-35) with runners in scoring position … Led the team with 10 games of two or more RBI … Had six multi-hit games on the year … Struck out only five times in 91 at bats on the season … Belted a grand slam to help NSU defeat Delaware State in game 2 on March 26 … Hit another grand slam on May 12 in the MEAC tournament in a win over Morgan State … Tied the school record shared by five other players with three doubles as part of a 3-for-3 game 1 win over Coppin State on March 19 … Doubled with one out in the bottom of the seventh and then scored the game-winning run in that 6-5 victory … Hit a pair of doubles and went 3-for-5 with three RBI in a win at UMES on April 3 … Also had three hits in four at bats and scored twice while driving in a run in a game 1 win over North Carolina Central on April 13 … During a seven-game stretch from April 16-May 12, drove in exactly two runs in five of those games and had four doubles during that time … Also drove in two runs in games at North Carolina A&T on March 16 and against Drexel on March 22 … Scored a pair of runs in wins over both Sacred Heart and Rhode Island on March 12 … Hit 10-for-27 (.370) during the last nine games of the season.
 
2015 (Junior Year): Member of the MEAC All-Academic Team and the AD’s Honor Roll … Made 11 starts and competed in 25 games on the year … Batted .333 with 12 hits in 36 at bats … Also tallied 14 runs, three doubles, one home run, seven RBI and nine walks … Had a .467 on-base percentage … Hit 6-for-16 with runners on base and 4-for-10 with runners in scoring position … Started six games in right field and five at designated player … Drove in three runs and went 2-for-2 with a run scored and a walk in a victory at Morgan State on April 12 … Had her second multi-hit game of the season with a 3-for-3 effort at Coppin State on April 24 … Scored three runs and hit a double and a solo home run that day, the first homer of her career … Finished a stretch in which she hit 10-for-19 with eight runs and seven RBI in eight games … Also drove in two runs while going 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a double in a game 1 win at Coppin State on April 23 … Hit another double in game 2 and finished 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
 
2014 (Sophomore Year): Member of the AD’s Honor Roll … Competed in 16 games and made seven starts, including five in right field, one in left field and one at designated player … Had two hits in 26 at bats with one run scored and two sacrifice hits … Went 1-for-3 against UMBC on March 2 … Also had a hit against Youngstown State on March 8 … Walked once and scored her lone run of the year in game 2 against Rider on March 20.

Florence-Darlington Tech (2013 – Freshman Year): Hit .324 during her freshman year in 2013 … Scored 25 runs on 24 hits with six doubles, one home run, 10 RBI and 13 walks … Posted a .425 on-base percentage … Led Florence-Darlington Tech to the Region X regular season championship … Ranked as high as No. 14 nationally.

High School: Competed on the varsity softball team all four years at Bayside under coach Liz Stroud … Earned second-team All-Beach District honors at utility during her sophomore and senior seasons … Batted .384 with a .487 on-base percentage as a senior … Was also the MVP of the softball team that season … Played varsity volleyball and was a member of the varsity swim team, both for all four years at Bayside … Was a regional swimmer her last three years … Won the team’s Coaches Choice Award as a freshman … Team MVP her last two years and Swimmer of the Year as a senior … Was also named the MVP of the volleyball team senior year.

Personal: Full name is Megan Michelle Dunning … Born on Sept. 14, 1994 … Daughter of Robyn and Brian Dunning … Has one fraternal twin sister, Heather, also a senior on the NSU softball team … Majoring in nutrition … Wants to eventually open a health and wellness center … Enjoys softball, swimming, volleyball and beach volleyball, going to the beach and camping.
