High School: A two-year baseball standout at King George … Ward was first-team All-Conference 22 as a senior after going 7-2 with a 2.22 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 57 innings … pitched four shutouts and a no-hitter that season … was a 2013 Underclass Honorable Mention All-America selection by Perfect Game … rated the No. 12 right handed pitcher among seniors in Virginia in 2014 … also participated on the varsity swimming team as a senior … attended the Bucky Dent Baseball Academy in Florida as a sophomore.
