Roberts returns to a familiar place after previously serving as an assistant coach for the Norfolk State volleyball program from 2022-24. Her coaching résumé includes leadership roles at Kempsville High School, Beach Elite Volleyball, Bryant & Stratton College, and Bayside High School, where she helped develop student-athletes on and off the court. Roberts brings more than a decade of coaching experience and a strong commitment to student-athlete success as she takes the reins of the Spartan bowling program.
A former Norfolk State student-athlete, Roberts competed on the Spartan bowling team during her sophomore and junior seasons from 2007-09 while also earning four letters as a member of the volleyball program. During her time with the bowling team, Norfolk State advanced to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship semifinals in 2009.
On the volleyball court, Roberts established herself as one of the most accomplished players in program history. She finished her career ranked among Norfolk State's all-time leaders in kills, attacks, service aces, and digs, becoming one of only two players in program history to record more than 700 kills and 700 digs.
A lifelong bowler who competed alongside her parents in leagues throughout Hampton Roads, Roberts has maintained a strong connection to Norfolk State since her graduation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies: Elementary Education from Norfolk State in 2010, graduating Cum Laude.
Roberts becomes the eighth head coach in program history and will lead the Spartans into the 2026-27 season.
