Career Statistics

2021: Cross Country: Helped NSU capture the 2021 MEAC cross country title with a 5K time of 19:36.9, earning All-MEAC honors in her final race as a Spartan.

2020-21: Cross Country: Season was canceled due to COVID-19. Outdoor: Won the 1,500 meters at both the Chanticleer Challenge (4:26.77) and Gamecock Invitational (4:25.89) … Also ran on the 4x400 relay that placed second at Coastal Carolina and fifth at the Gamecock Invitational … Took fourth in the 800 at the U.Va. Grand Prix in 2:06.85 … MEAC runner-up in the 1,500 (4:30.5), fourth in the 800 (2:10.10) and fourth in the 4x400 … Qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round after clocking a 2:06.72 at the Aggie Twilight … Posted times of 2:04.23 and 2:05.00 at the NCAA East Prelim.
 
2019-20: Named to the NSU AD Honor Roll for the spring semester. Cross Country: MEAC cross country champion for the third straight year, the first female to ever accomplish that feat and one of just two to ever win three individual conference cross country titles in a career … Finished no worse than 11th at any meet during the season … Was 10th in a 5K time of 17:52.9 at the Cavalier Classic … Placed 11th on a 6K course at the Panorama Farms Invitational in 21:01.1 … Posted a personal-best time 6K of 20:47 in finishing as runner-up at East Carolina … Won the MEAC with a 5K clocking of 17:44.4. Indoor: MEAC Indoor Most Outstanding Performer and an NCAA indoor All-American, both for the second time in her career … Also was named the inaugural Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Women’s Track State Athlete of the Year … Won MEAC indoor titles in the 800 (2:09.17), mile (4:52.27), 3,000 (10:18.66) and DMR while also helping the 4x400 relay team come in fifth … Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 800m for the second straight year on the strength of her time of 2:05.38 at the Penn State National, where she was runner-up … The NCAA Indoor Championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Earlier in the year, Bissah also brought home first-place finishes in the 800 at the Darius Dixon Invitational (2:06.25) and Gamecock Opener (2:05.68) … Earned MEAC Athlete of the Week honors following her performance at South Carolina … Also notched victories in the 1,000m at the Great Dane Classic (2:49.30), the mile at George Mason Father Diamond Invitational (4:48.67) and the 3,000 at the CNU Holiday Open (9:48.53). 2018-19: Became the first known Spartan to win three straight NSU Female Athlete of the Year awards … Also repeated as cross country and track and field team MVP. Cross Country: Became the first MEAC athlete since 2002-03 to repeat as MEAC women’s cross country champion … Ran a time of 18:02.4 on a rainy course in Smyrna, Del., beating the competition by some 40 seconds … Was a three-time MEAC XC Runner of the Week winner, following first-place finishes at the U.Va. Duals, George Mason Invitational and East Carolina Pirate Invitational … Ran a personal-best 6K time of 20:51.7 at ECU. Indoor: Earned first-team USTFCCCA All-America honors by placing fifth in the 800 meters at the national meet … Became just the second Spartan female to earn indoor All-America honors at the Division I level … That capped a season in which she was MEAC indoor champion in the 800 (2:07.16) and mile (4:55.56) for the third year in a row … Ran an indoor PR and what was the nation’s fastest 800m time during the season at the Camel City Elite meet (2:03.99, converted to 2:02.58 on flat track) against a field of top-flight collegians and professionals … Was named MEAC Athlete of the Week for her performance … Ran a 2:04.27 in the 800 at Penn State, taking second place in the race and earning her first MEAC Athlete of the Week honor of indoor season … Also won the 400 (56.43) and 1,000 (2:45.52) races at the Keydet Invitational. 2017-18: Repeated as NSU Female Athlete of the Year and also named cross country and women’s track MVP. Cross Country: Won three of the four races that she finished, which included setting a new MEAC Championship record en route to the conference individual gold medal … Clocked a personal-best 5K time of 17 minutes, 16.3 seconds to win NSU’s first women’s conference title since 2002 and help the Spartans place third in the team standings … Also finished first at the 5K Cappy Anderson Invitational (18:03.3) and the 6.04K George Mason Invitational (21:56.1) … Earned MEAC Runner of the Week honors for her win at GMU … Placed second at the ECU Pirate Invitational (21:20.6 for 6K). Indoor: Repeated as MEAC Indoor Most Outstanding Women’s Runner after winning four gold medals at the conference indoor championship … Won MEAC individual titles in the 800 (2:09.23), mile (4:53.08) and 3,000 meters (10:07.07) for the second straight year … Also ran legs on the winning medley relay team and third-place 4x400 team at the MEAC indoor meet … Won five individual races during the season, beginning with a victory in the mile (5:01.81) at the Jack Pyrah Invitational … Won the 1,000 meters in consecutive races at the Albany Great Dane Classic (2:51.28) and the VMI Keydet Invitational (2:50.36) … Was also runner-up in the 400 meters (56.74) and ran on the third-place 4x400 team at VMI, earning her first MEAC Indoor Athlete of the Week honor of the season … Earned another MEAC weekly selection after finishing as runner-up in the 800 meters at the Penn State National (indoor season-best 2:06.59) … Also took wins in the mile at the Darius Dixon Invitational at Liberty (4:52.34) and the 3,000 at the VMI Winter Relays (10:13.40). Outdoor: Earned first-team USTFCCCA All-America honors after placing sixth in the 800m (2:06.79 finals, 2:06.17 prelims) at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon … Became NSU’s first first-team women’s All-American since 2004 … Also the first NSU female to ever advance to the outdoor nationals in the 800 meters … Advanced to nationals after placing seventh at the NCAA East Preliminary Round with a personal-best time of 2:03.75 in the quarterfinals … Repeated as MEAC outdoor champion in the 800 with a time of 2:05.48 … Won the conference outdoor title in the 1,500 meters (4:28.64) while also competing on the Spartans’ seventh-place 4x400 relay team … Won at least one race at four of NSU’s five outdoor meets prior to the conference championship … Took wins in the 1,500m at the Fred Hardy Invitational (4:27.46) and Virginia State Trojan Invitational (4:25.89, PR) and the 800m at the Charlotte Invitational (2:05.51) and the Virginia Grand Prix (2:04.32) … Earned MEAC Runner of the Week accolades following her 1,500m win at Virginia State and her 800m victory at U.Va. … Runner-up in the 1,500m at the Colonial Relays (4:28.20) and placed fourth in the 400m at the Charlotte Invitational (PR, 56.39).

2016-17: Named the NSU Female Athlete of the Year for the 2016-17 academic year and the women’s track and field MVP. Cross Country: Did not compete. Indoor: Two-time MEAC Runner of the Week during indoor season and also earned the MEAC Indoor Championships Most Outstanding Runner honor at the conference championship in February … Earned two first-place finishes in her first meet at NSU, the Art & Linda Maillet Invitational … Won the mile (5:09.87) and ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team at UNC, earning her first MEAC weekly honor … Also won a race in her next meet, taking gold in the 800 meters at the Liberty Kick Off (2:12.14) … Ran an indoor season-best time of 2:09.42 in the 800 at Penn State, taking fifth place … Also ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team at PSU (3:49.28), helping her earn a second MEAC Runner of the Week award … Earned yet another race win in her first time running the 3,000 meters, at CNU’s Vince Brown Invitational (10:11.60) … Won four gold medals at the MEAC Indoor Championships, three in individual events and one on a relay … Swept the 800 (2:11.04), mile (season-best 4:53.48) and 3,000 (10:13.70) and also ran a leg on NSU’s winning distance medley relay squad (12:02.49). Outdoor: Won another MEAC individual gold medal and also qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in her first outdoor season at NSU … Opened up the outdoor season by running a yearly best time in the mile (4:49.93), good for second place at the Tribe Invitational … Also ran a leg on the first-place 4x400 relay team (3:56.71) … Was runner-up in the 1,500 (4:27.12) and fifth in the 400 meters (57.52) at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by Richmond … Clocked an 800m time of 2:08.45 en route to a third-place finish at the Colonial Relays … Also was runner-up in the 800 at the Charlotte Invitational (2:08.55) and at the Virginia Grand Prix (season-best 2:06.05) … Named MEAC Runner of the Week for her performance at the U.Va. Grand Prix … Won the MEAC 800m title in 2:09.98 … Was MEAC outdoor runner-up in the 1,500 (4:37.30) and helped the Spartans take fourth in the 4x400 relay (3:46.31) … Qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the 800 meters, where she placed 26th in a field of 46 (2:08.82).
 
High School/Amateur: Won a gold medal in the girls 800m race at the Summer Youth Olympics in China in 2014 in a time of 2:04.90 … It was the first Olympic gold medal for Ghana at any international event.
