Coach Brandon Harris is a Physical Education and Sports Management professional with over 10 years of experience developing student-athletes and young adults across youth programs, K–12 education, collegiate athletics, and higher education settings. He is passionate about using sports, physical education, and structured learning environments as tools to build confidence, discipline, accountability, and a lifelong commitment to health and wellness.
Known for creating engaging, structured, and student-centered environments, Coach Harris blends strong instructional leadership with a relational coaching style that emphasizes trust, motivation, and personal growth. His approach is rooted in high expectations, consistency, and a genuine commitment to developing the whole student-athlete — academically, athletically, behaviorally, and personally.
His coaching journey began in Eastern North Carolina in 2014 as a Summer Football Camp Instructor and Counselor with programs including the Richlands Rec Football Association, 9 Yards Fitness, and the Southwest Youth Football Association. In these roles, he taught fundamental and advanced football skills, implemented training and conditioning programs, emphasized injury prevention, and reinforced discipline, sportsmanship, and accountability — all while building strong relationships with athletes and families and serving as a positive role model in the community.
During that same period, he served as a Defensive Backs Coach at Southwest High School (2014–2016) in Jacksonville, NC, where he organized and led defensive practices, developed game plans, assisted with film breakdown and scouting, and contributed to weekly preparation and game-day execution. He also supported student-athletes both academically and athletically, helping establish a team culture built on discipline, preparation, and execution.
He later transitioned into education and behavioral support at Brunson Elementary School (2018–2023), serving as both an Exceptional Children Teacher and Behavioral Interventionist Specialist. In these roles, he developed individualized education plans (IEPs), implemented behavior intervention strategies, collaborated with families and support staff, and ensured students received the structured, individualized support needed to grow academically and behaviorally.
At the high school level, Coach Harris served as JV Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Varsity Defensive Backs Coach at East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, NC (2020–2023). He was responsible for defensive game planning, daily practice structure, athlete development, academic monitoring, and overall program support. His leadership helped foster a disciplined, accountable, and competitive team culture.
At the collegiate level, he served as Head Women's Flag Football Coach at Johnson C. Smith University in 2025, where he launched and led the program's inaugural season in NCAA Division II and the CIAA Conference. He oversaw all aspects of program development — including recruiting, practice planning, game strategy, compliance, scheduling, and student-athlete mentorship — building a strong foundation for long-term program success.
In addition to his coaching career, Coach Harris currently serves as a Transfer Admissions Counselor at Norfolk State University, where he manages the full transfer recruitment cycle, evaluates academic records, supports admissions decisions, and develops partnerships with community colleges to strengthen transfer pathways. He previously held a similar role at Johnson C. Smith University, where he led data-driven recruitment strategies and guided prospective students through the admissions process.
Coach Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a concentration in Physical Education from Johnson C. Smith University. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and competed at the collegiate level as a member of the Johnson C. Smith University football program.
