2013-14: Indoor: Qualified for the MEAC Indoor Championships in the triple jump and 60 meter hurdles … finished sixth at the conference championship in the 60 hurdles (8.85 finals, 8.82 prelims) … was ninth in the triple jump (36-6.75) … season-best triple jump was 38-0.25, good for 10th place at the Hokie Invitational … won the 60 hurdles (9.06) and took second in the long jump (season-best 17-6) at the CNU Vince Brown Invitational … took fifth place in the 60 hurdles (9.06) and long jump (17-4) and fourth in the 60 meter dash (8.14) at the Joe Hilton Invitational. Outdoor: Qualified for the MEAC Outdoor Championship in three events – the 100 meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump, scoring in the latter two … took fifth place in both jumping events at the conference meet … long jumped a PR of 18-11.75 at the MEAC meet … triple jumped 39-8.75 at the conference meet, her second-best jump of the year … won the triple jump (season-best 40-1.25) and took third in the 100m hurdles (season-best 14.20) at the UNC Joe Hilton Invitational … took 20th in the triple jump at the Penn Relays (38-1.5) … was runner-up in the long jump at the Morgan State Legacy Meet (18-6) … earned a spot on the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for spring semester.
At Florida State: Competed in the long jump, triple jump and hurdles at the ACC Indoor Championships as a freshman in 2012 … posted indoor bests of 8.66 in the 60 hurdles at the SPIRE Invitational and 12.42m (40-9) in the triple jump at the Crimson Tide Opener … an NCAA East Preliminary Round qualifier after placing ninth at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a collegiate-best triple jump of 12.63m (41-5.25) … competed in just one indoor meet as a sophomore in 2012-13.
High School: Selected Gatorade Virginia Girls Track Athlete of the Year following her senior season at Western Branch … led the Bruins to Group AAA state titles both indoors and outdoors … individually, she won the 100-meter hurdles (14.08) and the long jump, while also scoring in the triple jump and 300-meter hurdles in her final season … her team also qualified for the Nike Track Nationals ... was indoor state runner-up in the 55-meter hurdles and triple jump and third in the long jump ... also won the state outdoor triple jump title as a junior.
Personal: Desmonae Gray was born on Dec. 5, 1992 … daughter of Adriene Gray … majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
