2020-21: Member of the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the fall semester and was named to the MEAC All-Academic Team. Cross Country: Season was canceled due to COVID-19. Indoor: Ran the 5K at the Liberty Elite meet, placing fifth … Won the 3,000 (10:46.50) and 5,000 (18:38.49) at the Kenneth Giles Invitational. Outdoor: Placed second in the 5K at the Gamecock Invitational … Finished in the top three in all of her events at the MEAC Outdoor Championships … Won the 10,000 in 38:19.77, a new PR … Was second in the steeplechase in a PR of 11:41.88 … Finished third in the 5,000 in 18:27.27.

2019-20: Named to the NSU AD Honor Roll for both semesters … Also named to the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team. Cross Country: Opened the year with a 32nd place finish at the Cavalier Classic hosted by U.Va. with a 5K time of 19:14.2 … Captured 15th place at East Carolina’s Pirate Invitational on a 6K course in 22:02 … Posted her 5K PR in a fifth-place showing at the MEAC Championships (18:34.4) … Picked up her second straight All-MEAC individual honor as the Spartans won the team title. Indoor: Opened the year with  a fourth-place showing in the 3,000 at the CNU Holiday Open … Also took top-10s in the 3,000 at Penn State (seventh) and 5,000 at VMI (sixth) … Ran a leg on NSU’s winning DMR team at the MEAC Championships … Also earned two individual medals with her runner-up 5,000m showing (18:15.96) and third-place finish in the 3,000 (10:21.43). Outdoor: Season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2018-19: Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for both semesters. Cross Country: Named the cross country team Rookie of the Year … Placed 18th in the 6K East Carolina Pirate Invitational in a time of 22:38.7 … Took fourth at the MEAC Cross Country Championships in a time of 19:11.8, helping NSU finish as the runner-up. Indoor: Earned two runner-up finishes in the 5,000 meters in regular-season meets at Virginia Tech (19:19.31) and Liberty (18:49.32) … Placed eighth in the 3,000 meters at the JDL Invitational (10:37.98) … Placed fourth in the 3,000 at the MEAC Indoor Championships in a PR of 10:17.55 … Also ran a leg on NSU’s second-place DMR team. Outdoor: Opened outdoor season with a 10th-place showing at the Fred hardy Invitational (10:45.27) … Posted a 10K PR of 38:48.93 at the Colonial Relays … Won the 5,000 meters at the Charlotte Invitational (18:37.24) … Came in fifth in the steeplechase at the MEAC Outdoor Championships (12:27.76) and eighth in the 10,000 (41:26.27).

Personal: Fridah Koech was born Jan. 24, 1998 … Daughter of Ann Koech … Majoring in nursing … Older sister, Ashah, also ran for NSU and another older sister, Mercy, was also a track and field letterwinner at NSU.
