Adrian Gaddis joined the Norfolk State Athletics sports medicine staff in 2026 as an Athletic Trainer, bringing more than a decade of collegiate sports medicine experience working with student-athletes across a variety of sports.
Prior to Norfolk State, Gaddis spent four years at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, serving in several leadership roles within the Ragin' Cajuns sports medicine department. He worked as Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine with football, women's basketball, track and field/cross country, and men's basketball. Most recently, Gaddis served as the head athletic trainer for men's basketball while also overseeing sports medicine coverage for men's and women's track and field and cross country.
Before arriving at Louisiana, Gaddis spent three seasons as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Missouri, primarily working with the Tigers' football program. His responsibilities included daily treatment and injury evaluation, coordinating surgical procedures and rehabilitation with physical therapists, and serving as a preceptor for undergraduate athletic training students.
Gaddis previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Houston-Victoria, providing sports medicine coverage for all six of the university's intercollegiate programs. He also spent more than three years at North Carolina Central University, working with men's basketball, football, men's and women's tennis, and track and field.
His sports medicine experience also includes volunteer work with Louisiana State University, assisting with preparation and coverage surrounding the Chick-fil-A Bowl and Outback Bowl, as well as experiences with Georgia Tech baseball and Clark Atlanta men's basketball.
Gaddis earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University and his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Louisiana State University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Mississippi State University and an associate degree from East Mississippi Community College.
A Board of Certification (BOC) certified athletic trainer, Gaddis is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and holds additional certification in the Graston technique.
