Bailey Brown begins her second year with the Norfolk State athletics department in 2024-25 as an academic coordinator.
In that capacity, Brown meets with students on a weekly basis to gather academic updates and follow up with academic success. She prepares and distributes weekly reports to assigned coaches relative to academic performance, encompassing overall academic performance of teams, evaluation of performance of at-risk student-athletes, and weekly study hall hours.
Brown came to Norfolk State from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she spent one year as a compliance graduate assistant. During her time at VCU, she collaborated with the senior associate AD of student services and NIL to submit interpretive rules and regulation issues to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
As a student at the University of South Carolina, Brown served as the manager of the school’s women’s tennis team, traveling to perform administrative functions as well as generating short-form social media content during practices and away matches to engage fans and increase visibility.
Brown also worked as a public relations intern for EdVenture Children’s Musuem in 2021, preparing and editing organizational publications such as employee newsletters for internal and external audiences.
Brown graduated from South Carolina in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in sport and entertainment management. She received her Master of Sport Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2023.
