Game Notes

NORFOLK, Va.
– The Norfolk State men's basketball team opens Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play by hosting North Carolina A&T in the Spartans' home opener on Saturday at Echols Hall. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and follows the NSU-N.C. A&T women's game.

NSU (1-4) comes into the game on a four-game losing streak after a 76-71 defeat Monday at Prairie View A&M. The Aggies, meanwhile, are 4-3 after a 93-59 loss at No. 12 Tennessee on Tuesday.

The Spartans lead the all-time series with N.C. A&T 16-15, but the Aggies won all three meetings last season. N.C. A&T swept the regular-season series, which included a 104-99 double overtime win at Echols Hall in February, then topped NSU 81-66 in the MEAC Tournament quarterfinals in March.

Tickets are $15 for reserved seating and $10 general admission for the doubleheader. Tickets for youth age 7-17 are $5, and children 6 and under are admitted free.

The game will be broadcast live on WNSB Hot 91.1 FM, with Ross Gordon and Terence Green calling the action. Live statistics are also available for the game at www.nsuspartans.com by following the men's basketball link and clicking on 'Live Statistics' to the right.
