OSAKA, Japan – Former standout Norfolk State track sprinter Chris Brown took fourth place in the finals of the 400 meters on Friday morning at the World Track & Field Championships at Nagai Stadium.
Brown, a two-time Olympian representing his native Bahamas, ran a personal-best time of 44.45 seconds, a new Bahamian national record.
Jeremy Wariner (43.45) won the gold and led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Americans. He was followed by Portsmouth native LaShawn Merritt (43.96) and Angelo Taylor (44.32).
