Harris Leads Michigan to 83-49 Win over Spartans

ANN ARBOR, Mich.
— Manny Harris led all players with 16 points and was one of five Wolverines in double figures as host Michigan toppled Norfolk State 83-49 on Tuesday night at Crisler Arena.

Harris also pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds for Michigan (4-1), which outrebounded NSU 53-37.

Michael Deloach (Rocky Mount, N.C.) had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Spartans (1-2), who lost their second in a row. NSU is now 0-3 all-time against Big Ten schools.

NSU took its only lead of the contest at 2-0 on two free throws by Aleek Pauline (South Jamaica, N.Y.) two and a half minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Michigan's Stu Douglass hit a 3-pointer, and Michigan never trailed again.

Harris, Zack Novak and Anthony Wright combined for all of the points in a 19-5 Michigan run late in the half that gave the Wolverines a 20-point lead, at 32-12.

Up by 15 at the half, Michigan held NSU to seven points in the first 10 minutes of the second half to open up a 31-point lead.

Wright added 12 points, Jevohn Shepherd and DeShawn Sims 11 each, and Novak 10 for Michigan, which held the Spartans to 30 percent shooting.

Kyle O'Quinn (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Kevin Worsley (Chesapeake, Va.) contributed nine points apiece off the NSU bench. Pauline had six points, six rebounds and five assists for the Spartans.

NSU returns to action on Sunday at Air Force. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST.
