NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State baseball team climbed to eighth in the latest Black College Baseball Poll, released Tuesday by www.blackcollegebaseball.com.
The Spartans (18-18, 5-9 MEAC) were not ranked last week for the first time this season, but made that a short-lived occurrence by going 5-1. Included were a pair of conference wins over Maryland Eastern Shore and a three-game sweep of Savannah State, which was ranked sixth in last week's poll.
MEAC leader Bethune-Cookman (28-17, 15-0 MEAC) remains the unanimous No. 1 this week, garnering all 13 first-place votes.
