Game Notes

NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State women's basketball team begins its season-ending homestand by hosting South Carolina State at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Winston-Salem State at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Now 0-22 overall and 0-12 in the MEAC, NSU is averaging 54.7 points and 35.1 rebounds per game. The Spartans are shooting 32.7 percent (441-of-1349) from the field, 28.0 percent (83-of-296) from 3-point range, and 63.1 percent (238-of-377) from the free-throw line.

Saturday's doubleheader has been designated Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Halftime of the men's game will feature a “Celebration of Life” Parade with area breast cancer survivors. NSU employees who are breast cancer survivors who wish to attend the game and participate in this event will be admitted free.

Monday's doubleheader has been designated Faculty Appreciation-Residential Hall Night. NSU faculty members who were selected to serve as honorary coaches during the current basketball season will be recognized during halftime of both the men's and women's games for their outstanding accomplishments in teaching and research. The game will also feature a competition between the nine NSU residence halls, sponsored by the Office of Residence Life. The winner will be determined by which residence hall has the largest attendance at the game and a sign competition.
