RALEIGH, N.C. - Sophomore Josef Tessema (Springfield, Va.) and junior Marlon Woods (Norfolk, Va. ran personal-best times in the 1,500 meters and 110 hurdles, respectively, for the NSU men's track team last weekend at the Raleigh Relays.

Tessema placed eighth in the 1,500 in a time of 3:53.43. Woods finished fifth in the 110 hurdles in a PR of 14.42 seconds.

The 4x200 relay team placed fifth in 1:25.81, and freshman Darris Shelton (Hampton, Va.) placed seventh in the long jump (22-10.5).

The meet was hampered all week by the persistent rains which affected much of the East Coast.

The Spartans are back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary.
