NORFOLK, Va. - Though his career at Norfolk State is complete, former Spartans defensive back
Don Carey (Norfolk, Va.) continues to pile up the accolades.
Carey was recently selected as a 2009 inductee into the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the classroom, in the community and on the playing field. To qualify, honorees must have at least a 3.2 GPA and have distinguished themselves as a significant contributor on the field and in the community.
Carey is one of 564 players from 266 schools that make up the 2009 class. He was a three-time member of the NSU and MEAC All-Academic Teams, a three-year starter and two-time All-MEAC football player, and a key member of NSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
