NSU Women Travel to Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M

Game Notes

NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State women's basketball resumes MEAC play on Saturday when the Spartans (2-7, 0-1 MEAC) travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take on Bethune-Cookman (4-7, 0-1) at 2 p.m.  NSU then heads to Tallahassee, Fla. to play Florida A&M (8-3, 1-0) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Ross Gordon will call both games for NSU beginning approximately 1:45 p.m. on Saturday and 5:15 p.m. on Monday on WNSB 91.1 FM. The live audio stream is available here. Live stats for the B-CU game can be accessed by going to www.b-cuathletics.com.

NSU is coming off a 68-55 loss to McNeese State on Dec. 30. Whitney Long (Raleigh, N.C.) led the Spartans with 11 points. Raychele Payne (Newport News, Va.) had 10 points and Batavia Owens grabbed a career-high nine rebounds. On the season, Long is the Spartans' leading scoring with 12.6 points per game. Defensively, Tyisha Bridges (Greensboro, N.C.) leads the way with 3.8 rebounds per game.
