Spartans Travel to Charlottesville for 1st Meeting with U.Va.

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State continues its December road slate with a non-conference game at the University of Virginia on Monday night. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.

The Spartans (1-7) enter this contest having lost six in a row after a 74-54 defeat at Maine on Dec. 12. Freshman Pendarvis Williams and junior Kyle O'Quinn had 11 points each for NSU, with Rob Hampton adding 10. NSU, however, shot just 34.6 percent from the fi eld while Maine hit 54 percent. 

The Cavaliers (7-3) have won four straight after a 63-48 victory over Oregon on Friday night in Charlottesville.

SERIES NOTES
NSU and Virginia will be meeting on the hardwood for the fi rst time ever. This will be the Spartans' sixth game all-time against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. NSU is 0-2 all-time against Maryland and 0-1 gainst Clemson, Miami and North Carolina State. Monday's game will be NSU's fi rst against ACC opposition since the 2004-05 season. That year, NSU fell at Clemson, 83-56, on Dec. 14, 2004 and lost 76-58 at Miami on Jan. 2, 2005.
