FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – First-year sophomore Sean Holston (Springfield, Va.) capped a successful rookie indoor track & field season by placing 13th in the men's 200 meters on Friday night at the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Holston ran a time of 21.04 seconds, but did not qualify for the finals. It was Holston's best actual clocking of the season. His winning 200m time of 21.32 seconds at last month's MEAC Championships was converted due to track size to a time of 20.92 seconds, which qualified him for the NCAA meet.
Texas A&M's Curtis Mitchell won the event in 20.38 seconds.
Holston was one of three MEAC athletes to qualify for the NCAA indoor meet, along with UMES' Allodin Fothergill (400m) and Hampton's Francena McCorory (400m).
