Game Notes
NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State men's basketball team (10-18, 8-7 MEAC) will attempt to lock up a first-round MEAC Tournament bye on Thursday night when they face the North Carolina A&T Aggies (10-20, 6-9) in Greensboro, N.C. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Corbett Sports Center.
NSU is one of the hottest teams in the MEAC, winner of seven of its last nine games, heading into its regular-season finale. The Spartans took a 67-57 victory on Monday night at Coppin State.
North Carolina A&T has lost three straight after an 81-67 loss at Morgan State on Monday.
A win by the Spartans would lock up the No. 4 seed and a berth in the quarterfinals of next week's MEAC Tournament in Winston-Salem, N.C. Even with a loss to A&T, the Spartans would still secure a bye unless Bethune-Cookman beats Florida A&M, Howard beats Hampton and UMES beats Delaware State.
Ross Gordon and Chris Park will call the action on WNSB 91.1 FM. WNSB's live audio link is available through the NSU web site at www.nsuspartans.com.
The all-time series between the two teams is tied at 18-all after the Aggies took a 93-84 OT victory on Dec. 5 in Norfolk. A win tonight by NSU would mark the third straight year that the teams would have split their regular-season meetings.
