NORFOLK, Va. - NSU and Savannah State meet for the first time as MEAC foes this Saturday as the Spartans open their 2011-12 MEAC schedule. Tip-off is 6 p.m. at Echols Hall.
NSU dropped a 69-57 decision to Elizabeth City State on Wednesday night at Echols Hall, dropping the Spartans' record to 4-3 overall. Kyle O'Quinn again led the way for NSU, recording 18 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The Spartans committed a season-high 34 turnovers and shot just 33 percent from the floor, their worst effort of the
season.
Savannah State, meanwhile, made its MEAC debut a memorable one, taking a 65-49 win at
Hampton on Thursday. Deric Rudolph had 21 points and Rashad Hassan added 17 for the Tigers.

when NSU swept a pair of games, 76-49 and 81-50.
