LANDOVER, Md. - The NSU men's track team began defense of its MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday by picking up eight points in the weight throw, the only event to be contested on Thursday.

Junior Jamal Craig placed fourth with a top heave of 48 feet, 4.5 inches. Freshman Ian Copeland was sixth with a best effort of 43-6.5.
