2011 MEAC Basketball Tournament Bracket

NORFOLK, Va. - After completing their regular-season schedules on Thursday night, The Norfolk State basketball teams now know their fate as the 2011 MEAC Basketball Tournament looms.

The Spartan men (10-19, 8-8 MEAC) earned the No. 6 seed and will open play in the tournament against No. 11 Howard (6-23, 4-12) in a first-round game at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Spartan men won both regular-season meetings with the Bison, 63-53 on Jan. 17 in Washington, D.C., and 76-68 on Feb. 14 in Norfolk

The NSU women (9-18, 2-14) will be the No. 11 seed in the women's bracket and will also face Howard (13-17, 9-7) in the tournament's first round. The Spartans and Bison meet at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8. Howard swept the regular-season meetings, winning 65-43 on Jan. 17 in Washington, D.C. and 66-49 on Feb. 14 in Norfolk.
