NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State University men's basketball program will host a series of events leading up to the start of the 2025-26 basketball season, giving fans several opportunities to connect with the program and celebrate the beginning of a new campaign. 

The week of activities begins with Heels and Hoops on Wednesday, Oct. 15, followed by the 12th Annual Tipoff Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 16, and Spartan Madness Fanfest on Friday, Oct. 17, before concluding with a preseason scrimmage against Elon University on Saturday, Oct. 18. 

Returning this year is the Heels and Hoops clinic. This event offers women of all experience levels the chance to learn directly from the Spartan coaching staff and players. Limited to 50 participants, the clinic provides an inside look at the program and features interactive skill drills and a mini-camp workout. 

The 12th Annual Tipoff Dinner, hosted at Rivers Casino in Portsmouth, Va., will feature keynote speaker Vernon Maxwell, a 13-year NBA veteran and two-time NBA Champion. Individual tickets are $90, while tables of eight are available for $850. The evening includes remarks from Coach Robert Jones, a preview of the upcoming season, and opportunities for fans to support the program. 

The week continues with the Annual Spartan Madness Fanfest, set for Friday, Oct. 17, inside Echols Arena. The event will feature team and coaching staff introductions, a three-point contest, slam dunk contest, and an intrasquad scrimmage. One lucky fan will have the chance to win $50,000 during the event. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased through CJ Clemmons or Kyonze Chavis. Doors open at 7 p.m., with introductions beginning at 8 p.m. 

The week concludes with the Spartans' preseason scrimmage against Elon University on Saturday, Oct. 18, providing fans their first look at the 2025-26 squad in action.
