Massenburg, Shelton Earn Honorable Mention All-America Status at NCAA Outdoor Meet

DES MOINES, Iowa – NSU hurdler Aramis Massenburg and long jumper Darris Shelton saw their outdoor track & field seasons come to an end on Thursday night in the semifinals of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of Drake University.

Neither advanced to the finals in their respective events, but both earned honorable mention All-America honors by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) by virtue of qualifying for nationals. That gives NSU four athletes to earn that distinction this outdoor season. The four individual NSU representatives at the outdoor meet are a program record for the Division I era.

Massenburg placed 21st out of 24 in the men's 110-meter hurdles. He ran a time of 13.97 seconds, eighth in heat two.

Shelton's best long jump was 7.27 meters, or 23 feet, 10.25 inches, placing him 23rd out of 24 competitors.
