Game Notes
NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State women's basketball team will face their first MEAC opponent of the season as they travel to Savannah, Ga., on Saturday to take on Savannah State at Tiger Arena. The game starts at 4 p.m. This is the third of six consecutive road games for the Spartans.
NSU will play South Carolina State on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Last Time Out: NSU (1-4) fell to Appalachian State (4-1), 68-61, on Nov. 25 at Minges Coliseum in Greenville, N.C., in the ECU Pirate Invitational. Rachel Gordon led the Spartans in scoring and rebounds with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Quineshia Leonard added 11 points for NSU.
All-Time Series: NSU leads the series with Savannah State, 5-1. Most recently, the Spartans defeated the Tigers, 67-66, on Dec. 3, 2011. Whitney Long led NSU with 11 points, and Recca Trice and Rae Corbo each added 10 points. Savannah State posted its last victory over NSU on Dec. 19, 2007, with the final score, 67-58.
About Savannah State: Savannah State (2-4) is coming off of a 70-55 loss at Mississippi State on Nov. 28. The Tigers had two players in double figures with Ezinne Kalu leading SSU with 20 points and three rebounds. Erin Hogue tallied18 points and four rebounds for the Tigers.
Winning the Rebounding Battle: NSU outrebounded Appalachian State, 38-34, on Nov. 19, with Rachel Gordon leading the way with 9 rebounds.
Cracking the top 10: Recca Trice's seven assists in the game against Appalachian State moved her into sixth place all-time in the NSU record book for career assists. Trice has 360 career assists and 28 assists so far this season.
