NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State right handed pitcher
Chris Horne was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) all-state second team, the organization announced.
Horne, who just completed his junior season, went 7-5 with a 2.75 ERA in his first year with the Spartans after transferring from Patrick Henry Community College. He made 18 appearances and started seven times. Horne started out the year in the bullpen before transitioning to a weekend starting role later in the season. He tossed two complete games and struck out 70 hitters in 78.2 innings pitched.
Horne ranked fourth in the MEAC in strikeouts and fifth in ERA. He was NSU's only all-state honoree for 2012.
