NSU Baseball to Host High School and Junior College Prospect Showcase Aug. 9-10

Brochure and Registration Form

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State University baseball program will host a high school and junior college prospect showcase at Marty L. Miller Field Friday-Saturday, Aug. 9-10.

The showcase is open to high school players entering the ninth through 12th grades in addition to junior college players. The cost is $85 on or before July 29 and $110 after that date. Coaches from no fewer than 15 four-year institutions and junior colleges are scheduled to be in attendance, including staff members from Norfolk State, Old Dominion, VCU, Longwood and VMI, among others. Professional scouts will also be in attendance.

The camp will be broken into two separate sessions each day. Day one will consist of a pro-style workout/scouting combine, including a 60-yard dash, showcase at a primary and secondary position, and the chance to batters to hit and pitchers to record velocities. Following the workout, there will be a 30-minute question-and-answer session for all campers and parents with the college coaches. Day two will give campers the ability to showcase their talents in a game setting. After each team completes its game, coaches will give each player a written evaluation.
