Brown Takes 6th in High Jump at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.
D'Sean Brown tied for sixth place in the championship section of the men's high jump to lead the Spartan men's track and field team at the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary.

Brown cleared a season-best height of 6 feet, 4.25 inches. The sixth-place finish was the highest for any NSU track or field athlete at the competition.

In field events, Clifton Thompson and Da'trail Hockaday were 12th and 13th, respectively, in the discus throw. Thompson's best effort was 138-11 and Hockaday's was 130-1.

On the track, the 4x400 meter relay team of Steve Coles, Ryan Turner, Andre Pickett and Markeith Smith placed 12th in a season-best time of 3 minutes, 21.45 seconds. NSU's top individual finish was Coles' 14th-place effort in the 400 meters (49.41).

The Spartans compete this Friday and Saturday at the Joe Hilton Invitational at the University of North Carolina.
