The Spartans got off to a strong start against the Buccaneers, eventually going up by a 10-7 score in the first set. CSU chipped away at the lead, tying it up at 14-14 and forcing an NSU timeout. The Spartans responded with a 7-2 run, capped by a Forsythe kill, for a five-point edge on the way to the first-set win.
They were again strong early in the second, as CSU called timeout when a service ace from freshman

Johnson and Forsythe led NSU in the third set, as the Spartans again had the early lead, 11-9. The Bucs won five of seven at one point and then extended their lead thanks to a 6-0 spurt. NSU never got closer than five the rest of the way.

Against Villanova, NSU made runs in the second and third sets to keep things close.
After grabbing an early lead in the second set, NSU called timeout after the Wildcats won five straight to take a 9-6 lead. A block from Forsythe and senior
Kylee Thiim cut the deficit to one, and the Spartans stayed with Villanova as the set wore on. A kill from Forsythe and an error on the Wildcats made it 22-21, but the teams traded points the rest of the way as Villanova held on.
The Spartans fell behind by a 9-3 score in the third set before fighting back to get within three. Villanova went on another run for a 19-11 edge, but Forsythe had three kills during an 8-1 run for NSU. She and Tyler had a block to cap the run, cutting the Wildcat lead to 20-19. Villanova called timeout and responded by scoring five of the last six points of the match.
In the first set, Villanova jumped out to a 5-1 lead before three kills from Forsythe sparked NSU during a 5-0 run. The Spartans were unable to win two straight the rest of the set, though, and a 6-0 run by the Wildcats a little later gave Villanova a comfortable first-set margin.
Lauren Carpenter and Brittany Rembert combined for 19 kills. Rembert was also one of four players with at least four blocks. The Wildcats hit .238 and had a 12-3 edge in blocks.
