NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State football team's 2016 signing day class was ranked as the top recruiting class among MEAC schools and No. 3 among all HBCUs in the yearly black college football recruiting rankings released Tuesday by BoxToRow.

Latrell Scott recruiting in the state of Virginia, which yielded 12 of the Spartans' 15 signees to date. The release also noted the strength of offensive linemen signed last week and touches on the accomplishments of the skill position players signed by Scott and his staff.
Tennessee State of the Ohio Valley Conference earned the top spot in BoxToRow's top 10 rankings, with Prairie View A&M of the SWAC second.
