Pirate Invitational MXC Results
GRIMESLAND, N.C. - Three runners on the Norfolk State men's cross country team finished in the top five en route to a team win at the East Carolina Pirate Invitational on Friday evening.
Freshman
Felix Kiprotich and junior
Ronald Korir finished first and second for the second consecutive meet, with times of 15 minutes and 18.6 seconds and 15:23.59, respectively. Kiprtotich's victory marks the third time in as many meets this season the Spartans have had the top finisher. Korir set a personal record with his time.
Freshman
Festus Bett completed the 5K course in a time of 15:39.07, for a fifth place finish. Sophomore Antenah Girma finished in seventh (15:44.31), while junior
Haileyesus Demsie finished close behind in eighth with a personal best time of 15:48.73 to complete the Spartans top five runners.
NSU won the meet with 23 points.
The Spartans compete at the George Mason Invitational next Saturday.
