WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Norfolk State women's cross country team competed at the William & Mary Tribe Invitational on Friday, with two Spartans finishing among the top 50 in the team's first 5K meet of the season.
Junior
Candice Higgins paced the Spartan women with a time of 20 minutes, 7.47 seconds. She placed 43rd. Sophomore
Caroline Samoei wasn't far behind, taking 47th in 20:13.92.
Rounding out the Spartans' finishers was sophomore
Ashah Koech, was clocked a time of 20:49.05, and sophomore
Linei Woodson, who registered a time of 22:56.74.
The Spartans did not factor into the team score, with only four runners completing the course.
NSU returns to action next Saturday at the Cappy Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
