NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State Department of Athletics formally inducted 12 student-athletes earlier this month into the University's Eta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.
The honor is bestowed upon selected junior and senior student-athletes based on outstanding academic performance, character, citizenship and athletics ability. Members must maintain a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

About Chi Alpha Sigma
Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 on the campus of DePauw University by Nock Mourouzis. His goal was to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their education and athletics success for a lifetime.
Purpose of Chi Alpha Sigma
- Encourage and reward high academic scholarship
- Recognize outstanding academic achievement
- Encourage good citizenship, moral character and friendship among high academic achievers
- Recognize and honor the individual athlete, his/her team, sport, athletic department and college or university and to provide leadership to other athletes
