NORFOLK, Va. – Three different camps will be held this fall by the Norfolk State softball team, including a pair of fall friendlies later this month. The College Coaches Showcase Camp will also be hosted by the Spartans in November.

The first Fall Friendly takes place on Oct. 13 at the NSU Softball Field, and the second one occurs a week later on Oct. 20. Both are open to players ages 12-17 and are designed to help improve hitting, defensive and game skills.

Cost of each friendly is $50 per player for both the camp and games, or $500 per team with no camp and just games. There is a limit of five teams per day. The College Coaches Showcase Camp will be held on Nov. 3 and will feature coaching staffs from NSU, Hampton, Virginia, Longwood and Christopher Newport. They will provide direct instruction as well as evaluation and feedback on a variety of softball skills, and a Q&A will also be held about the recruiting process.

The camp will be broken up into three sessions. Session 1 will run from 8-11 a.m. and will involve pitching and catching. Session 2, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., will center around infield and outfield defense. The third session from 1-5 p.m. includes hitting and offensive skills.
