Spartans Close out Homestand with La Salle, Seek Third Straight Win

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women's basketball team is coming off two straight wins, most recently a 72-58 win over High Point on Wednesday. The Spartans welcome La Salle on Friday at 6 p.m., the last game of a three-game home stand at Echols Hall.

Series History vs. La Salle
This will be the third overall matchup against the Explorers, and the second time during head coach Larry Vicker's tenure. NSU is 0-2 all time versus the La Salle, and 0-1 under Vickers.

Last Meeting vs. La Salle
The Spartans traveled to Philadelphia in their most recent game against La Salle, with the Explorers coming out on top against the Spartans 62-52.

Raven Russell dropped 15 points to lead the Spartans, while Shalina Miller led the Panthers with 14 points. Deja King scored 13 in last year's game against the Spartans as well. King and Miller return to this 2019-20 La Salle team.

Scouting the La Salle
The Explorers are led by a duo of freshman guards and Australian natives in Claire and Amy Jacobs. Claire is averaging 14.8 points per game, while Amy averages 8.8 off the bench.

Kayla Spruill is the only player besides Claire Jacobs to average in double-digits, scoring 11.3 points per game.
