LEXINGTON, Va. – Two sprint victories for DaJah Parker-Love and a new school record for Arieana Parker highlighted a strong showing for the Norfolk State women's track and field team at the VMI Team Challenge on Saturday.

Parker-Love posted new indoor personal records in winning the 60 meters (7.42) and 200 meters (24.13). Parker clocked a 7.42 in the prelims before running a 7.43 in the finals. Both her times ranks among the top five in the MEAC, including a No. 2 ranking in the 200 meters.

Parker-Love also teamed with Malika Pride, Kara Grant and De'Niya Gravely to win the 4x400 relay Saturday in 3:56.59.

Parker smashed Kiara Howell's old school record in the weight throw by nearly three feet. She took runner-up honors Saturday at VMI with a heave of 56 feet, 7.25 inches, five feet more than her previous best. She now ranks fourth in the MEAC in that event.

Seven other Spartans finished among the top 10 in their respective track events. Grant and Gravely each posted two such finishes. Grant was second in the 800 in a season-best 2:14.18, then finished fifth in the mile in 5:22.51. Gravely, meanwhile, placed fifth in the 60 (7.75) and sixth in the 200 (25.47).
