LEXINGTON, Va. – Norfolk State senior
Jaylen Banks placed third in the heptathlon to lead a small contingent of Spartans who competed over the weekend at the VMI Winter Relays.
Making his season debut, Banks compiled 4,224 points to take third in a meet which included four Spartan multi-event athletes and also one hurdler who competed. Senior
Kequan Henley was fifth with 4,011 points, and sophomore
Byron Carson was seventh with 3,895 points.
Sophomore
Joseph Abiakam competed in the 60-meter hurdles, placing fifth in the finals with a time of 8.52 seconds.
The Spartans are back in action this coming weekend at the Darius Dixon Invitational hosted by Liberty.
