Josue Cumba Named MEAC Co-Rookie of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University freshman pitcher Josue Cumba has been selected as the MEAC Co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced.

Cumba made his first collegiate pitching appearance a memorable one on Sunday. Cumba pitched 2.2 scoreless innings in the series finale against Wagner, picking up the victory. He allowed just one hit and struck out four batters as NSU came back to win 7-3 and notch the series victory.

Cumba shared the honor this week with Bethune-Cookman's Matthew Garcia.

The Spartans are back in action Tuesday at VCU.
