Koech, Grant PR for NSU Women at U.Va. XC23 Invite

EARLYSVILLE, Va. – Juniors Fridah Koech and Kara Grant posted personal-best 5,000-meter times Friday at the XC23 Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia.

Koech finished the 5K course in 18 minutes, 27 seconds, good for 28th place in a meet which featured several regional powerhouse programs. She bested her PR from 2019 by seven seconds and her seaon best by more than 30.

Grant was 44th overall at the meet. She clocked a time of 19:21.5.

The Spartans have off next weekend before competing at the 2021 MEAC Championship in Cary, N.C. on Oct. 29.
