NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State men's basketball guard
Christian Ings was named the MEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games of Nov. 16-22, the conference announced.
Ings averaged 18.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals as the Spartans went 2-1 against William & Mary, Bowling Green and Xavier. In the Spartans' first-ever win over William and Mary, the Rider transfer scored a career-high 31 points on 12-for-15 shooting from the floor, 2-for-2 from 3-point range and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He also had four rebounds, four assists and two steals in that contest.
Ings is the second straight Spartan to win the award.
Joe Bryant Jr. won it in the first week of the season.
