NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University will host a pair of ESPNU televised games featuring its softball and baseball programs this spring, the MEAC announced Monday.
The NSU softball team faces Howard University in a four-game series this weekend. The first game of the series will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 2 p.m. Saturday at the NSU Softball Field. The game features two of the top contenders in the MEAC's Northern Division.
This marks the third televised home softball game in school history, with the others coming in 2007 and 2008.
The Spartan baseball team will also be showcased nationally when it hosts Florida A&M for a 4 p.m. ESPNU broadcasted game on Friday, April 30 at Marty L. Miller Field. This will be the first-ever televised home game in program history.
The Spartans and FAMU met in the last MEAC Baseball Championship to be contested, back in 2019. FAMU downed the Spartans twice in the championship round to win the conference title that year.
