NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University head tennis coach
Larry Holmes announced Friday the addition of Aleksandra Evdokimova to the Spartan women's recruiting class for the coming year.
Evdokimova, from Murcia, Spain, brings an accomplished resume to NSU. While in Spain, she won a number of notable regional tournaments, including the Regional Alevin, Regional Junior, Regional Absoluto, and both the Regional Infantil and Regional Cadete twice. She also won both the singles and doubles tournaments at the Tennis Europe Vilamoura.
Also recently, Evdokimova was a quarterfinalist at the Open de Villa Guardamar and reached the semifinals of the Marca Villena. Her most recent ranking in Spain was 130 and her highest UTR has been 9.6.
"We are excited to have Aleksandra join our program," Holmes said. "She comes in with a lot success from her time playing in Spain. She is a grinder with big strokes."
Evdokimova joins West Virginia transfer Amber Fuller and California native and high school standout Breana Cook in the Spartans' recruiting class for 2021.
