NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University quarterback
Juwan Carter and offensive lineman
Jalen Powell picked up weekly MEAC football honors Monday for their performances at Wake Forest on Saturday.
Carter was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Powell was selected the conference's Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Carter completed 19 of 31 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns against the Demon Deacons. Carter also rushed for 37 yards, second-most on the team, to give him 232 yards of total offense on the day.
Powell was a key component to NSU's 336 yards of total offense at Wake Forest. The Spartans' starting left guard graded out at 95 percent on his assignments and registered four knockdown blocks. He did not allow a sack or commit a penalty as NSU tallied its second-most points ever against an FBS team.
This is Carter's sixth career Offensive Player of the Week honor, and the first Offensive Lineman of the Week for Powell.
